Resilience pays dividends - Headteacher's Message
I am bursting with pride for our F1 in Schools team who have made it
to the national finals at their first-ever attempt.
As you will read in this newsletter, it was not an easy journey.
The team showed great resilience by convincing the judges to give them a wild card entry after challenging them on the scores issued to the team in the regional competition.
The excitement around the school is palpable as the team prepares for the next stage, and the chance to win a place in the world final. Our students are ready to give it their all once again.
Speaking of tenacity, we were all really impressed by Kody, who managed to secure a work experience placement while visiting the Houses of Parliament.
Employers have commented several times on how mature and resilient our students are during work experience placement. They are often offered jobs and apprenticeships on the back of impressive experiences, learning new skills with employers. Our students are uniquely prepared for entering the world of work.
This term has also seen our revision and intervention classes increase as Year 11 students took their GCSE mock exams. Academic success is crucial to our students’ futures and I can assure you there will be no stone left unturned in the pursuit of the top grades.
Finally, I would like to wish you all a very happy Easter. We look forward to seeing you all again after the break.
