What To Expect on the Day

Keynote Presentations

Each presentation will run twice during the slot to ensure that you can catch both! Each talk will run at 16:30 , 17:30 , 18:30 and 19:30. 

  • Headteacher’s Address: An introduction to our school ethos, vision, and academic expectations. 

  • Employer Partnership Talk: Insights into our career pathways and how our local employer partnerships enrich student work experience opportunities.

Student-Led Department Tours & Interactive Activities

Explore our classrooms and specialist facilities on a tour guided by our current students. Every subject department will feature hands-on, interactive activities where prospective students can test out equipment, participate in demonstrations, and speak directly with subject teachers.

Support & Information Hubs

Visit our drop-in stations throughout the evening to speak with specialist teams regarding:

  • SEND & Inclusion: Support options.

  • Pastoral Care: Student wellbeing and day-to-day student support.

  • Careers & Work Experience: Guidance on future pathways, partnerships, and placement support.

  • Bursaries & Financial Support: Information on eligible funding and application procedures.

  • Transport: Details on local transport links, bus routes, and travel arrangements.

Refreshments & Cafeteria Tasters

Complimentary tea and coffee will be available throughout the event. Visitors are also invited to sample a selection of dishes from our cafeteria to get a real taste of the delicious, healthy meal options served to our students daily.

Parking

Parking at UTCN is extremely limited. There will be Blue Badge parking on-site for those who require it. 

For all other visitors, limited parking will be available. We strongly encourage car sharing or using public transport where possible due to limited parking availability.
