Finlay’s soaring skill-set lands top apprenticeship

A HIGH-FLYING T Level Engineering student has used skills developed through his roles as a top-ranking air cadet to help secure a first-class apprenticeship.

Finlay is a Cadet Warrant Officer. who commits to two nights of activities a week, as well as weekend expeditions.

He said: “The skills and people skills gained through the cadets have proven beneficial not only in college and work but also in general life.”

After enjoying work experience at a local packing firm that uses cutting-edge engineering, Finlay applied for its apprenticeship programme in Norwich.

The experience has been transformative, equipping him with both technical knowledge and essential soft skills.

He said: I have enjoyed working at Redpack. It’s very involved and the engineering side is complex.”
