OUTREACH teams from a nuclear power plant company have visited the school.

Sizewell C delivered important assemblies for all year groups. Through those assemblies, students have learned about the employment opportunities that will be on their doorstep over the next decade, as Sizewell C is built on the east Suffolk coast.

As a significant future provider of local jobs, training and education, this has been a fantastic connection to make, not least as nuclear energy looks set to be a critical component of Britain’s movement towards net zero.

Students have learned all about the career opportunities in all different stages of a nuclear power plant’s development, including the design stage, the construction stage, the operation stage and, in 60 years time, the decommissioning stage.

The station is projected to supply six million homes with low-carbon electricity.
