Finley snaps up second spot in national karting championship

A SKILLED racing kart driver claimed second place in the National Championship – and has his sights set on a career in motorsport.

Finley Dunleavy, who recently joined UTCN, also claimed first place in 2023 – winning a signed shirt from F1 star Lewis Hamilton. 

“I wanted to keep a cool head because in a kart when you’re angry it creates more problems, and I wanted to minimise that. The atmosphere at these events is absolutely buzzing. It is so special and everyone helps each other out, it’s amazing.”

 

Racing for the Global League, he was selected to race in the National Championship, totting up 267 points to claim the top spot.

“I didn’t know I had won as the points were being calculated – I received some points for STEM work.”

 

This year Finley came an impressive second place and is working hard to achieve a career in motor sports – something that UTCN can support him with.
