Leo helps set up tanks trip
A MILITARY enthusiast has helped organise a school trip to the Norfolk Tank Museum through his role as a volunteer.
Leo, who is studying engineering, joined fellow T-Level students on the exciting trip.
“Everybody really enjoyed the day – I could tell as some spent 20 minutes exploring inside a tank and didn’t want to get out. The WWI and WWII tanks show some amazing engineering, which is really useful as a starting point. It’s interesting to go back to the basics.”
The Year 12 student works as a volunteer mechanic after impressing bosses during his summer work experience placement.
"They didn’t want to let me go! I have really enjoyed working there and it’s also helped me with an internship in London.”
Leo’s experience at the museum was a stand-out factor in his interview and helped him secure a first-class position, with a top defence manufacturer
