Tyrnan leads Norfolk in county rugby tournament
A SPORTS star has enjoyed the honour of being selected to play for Norfolk’s U18 rugby side – as captain.
Year 10 student Tyrnan plays for Norwich and says the sport keeps him fit both mentally and physically.
“I love playing and it was nice to be selected for captain. There is a lot more responsibility on the pitch.”
The aspiring software engineer skippered the county in the Tri-Counties tournament which also involved Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
“It’s definitely different to playing in a club side as my teammates were usually people I play against – although we are all friendly.”
Despite losing, the experience has been enlightening and he says a respite from his hard work studying.
“I enjoy the STEM subjects, especially computer science, and really would love a career in that field.”
