Headteacher Ms Palik on the success of the careers fair and how it exceeds expectations:

WHAT came across in our recent annual careers fair was just how engaged our students were with the employers.

The University of East Anglia’s engineering department showcased football robots that not only entertained but also inspired our students.

With nearly 1,000 students in attendance, our careers fair continues to break records and exceed expectations. Over 60 employers, ranging from car manufacturer Lotus and insurance giant Aviva to representatives from the British Army, participated in this year’s event.

The diversity of industries represented gives our students a perspective on the broad spectrum of career possibilities on offer to them. Part of the reason our students choose this school is because of a strong reputation for providing high-quality career support.

The credit goes to ourincredible careers team, not only for organising such a wonderful event, but also for their efforts in forging ties to various industries.

It was wonderful also to get the chance to catch up with former students now representing their new employers at the fair. They serve as role models for our current cohort and a testament to what can be achieved through hard work and diligent effort. Elsewhere, our students have been engrossed in their F1 project, building their car and hoping to defeat their local rivals. They have also been taking responsibility for funding by running activities to raise cash for the project.

Finally, I would like to wish you a restful winter break. Have a great Christmas. See you in the new year.
