Curtis secures degree apprenticeship during his industry placement.
Year 13 student Curtis has secured a degree apprenticeship after impressing during his industry placement.
He spent eight weeks with the manufacturing firm Redpack before being offered a mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
The firm was so impressed by his contribution that they started to pay him during his placement. Curtis will now start with the firm full-time next September after completing his engineering-level qualification.
He said: I am a practical learner so working in a hands-on profession is very much my passion. I loved working at Redpack. This suits me so much more than classroom learning and the chance to start earning money straight away is an incentive.
