When David graduated form UTCN we secured an IT Technician Apprenticeship at Canham Consulting / City College Norwich. He now an Installation Technician at SNAP

Why did you come to UTCN?

I came to UTCN to study Computing at A-Level. I specifically chose UTCN because of its facilities and teachers.

What did you like about UTCN?

 At UTCN, I enjoyed the lessons provided to me. They were presented well and I could always ask teachers for extra support.

 Why did you apply to be an IT Technician Apprentice at Canham Consulting / City College Norwich?

 After completing my A-Levels, I decided that I wasn’t interested in University and wanted to start gaining some experience in IT. The opportunity came up for an IT Technician at Canham Consulting, and after finding out that a couple other UTCN students were apprentices at Canham Consulting, I applied and got the job! 

 What do you do in your Apprenticeship? What do you like about it?

In my apprenticeship, I assist other employees with IT queries, software and hardware. The job is very heavy in problem solving, but I enjoy the environment and feel great satisfaction upon completing tasks.

What advice would you give current UTCN students?

Coming from a previous UTCN student, I would say the obvious answer is to enjoy the experience more. Even though I was at the college during covid lockdowns, the two years were over rapidly.
