Work Experience & Industry Placements (2026–2027 Academic Year)

Welcome to our Work Experience and Placement hub. Practical experience is a cornerstone of our curriculum, providing students with direct insight into industries, developing key professional skills, and enhancing future career and university applications.

Below are the key dates and overview details for all upcoming work experience (WEX) programmes and T-Level placement blocks for the 2027 spring and summer terms.

Programme Details and Guidance 

1. T-Level Engineering Placements

• Year 13: 18th January 2027 – 12th February 2027 (4 Weeks)

• Year 12: 21st June 2027 – 23rd July 2027 (5 Weeks)

Overview: T-Level Industry Placements are an essential part of the qualification, requiring students to complete a substantial block of structured workplace experience. Students will apply their technical knowledge in real-world engineering environments, working alongside industry professionals on live projects.

2. T-Level Foundation Work Experience

• Dates: 18th January 2027 – 29th January 2027 (2 Weeks)

Overview: Designed to prepare students for full T-Level pathways, this placement introduces students to professional workplace expectations, practical problem-solving, and foundation-level technical skills.

3. Year 10 Work Experience

• Dates: 17th May 2027 – 21st May 2027 (1 Week)

Overview: Our Year 10 placement gives students their first formal taste of the working world. It encourages independence, helps connect classroom learning to future careers, and builds confidence ahead of Key Stage 5 options.

4. A-Level Work Experience

• Year 12: 5th July 2027 – 16th July 2027 (3 Weeks)

Overview: A-Level students complete a focused period of work placement tailored toward their post-18 pathways—whether that be higher apprenticeships, university degrees, or direct employment.
