Yes. Although at this stage, there is no guarantee that every change can be granted as changes are dependent on the number of students wanting to take a subject and staff availability. All changes to subject choices are recorded and if a change is unsuccessful, we will inform you as soon as possible. If your child does want to change their options at this point please email email@example.com at your earliest opportunity.
We currently anticipate that the school year will start as normal in September. Of course, we will all need to follow the prevailing government guidance applicable at the time and act accordingly.
We are currently delivering a comprehensive online learning programme with much ‘live’ teaching to our existing students. In the unlikely event that term does not commence in September, we would look to deliver a similar online programme with face-to-face support when permitted.
If you are having any trouble logging into your UTCN account or with saving any of the personal information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org It is very important that we have all the information requested.
Please visit https://utcn.org.uk/travel if you are unsure about the routes available from your address to UTCN. There are some useful websites that will enable you to plan the best route to take. If you email us at email@example.com we can also advise.
Whilst this is a very uncertain time for all, we do still expect the 2020/2021 academic year to start as normal. We are, therefore, planning accepted students to join us at UTCN in September.
Below, we set out a few important items of information which I hope that you will find useful.
The purpose of this day is to familiarise students with travel to UTCN, the UTCN site layout, curriculum and expectations and to start to make new friends.
Again, we usually hold an information evening for parents/carers of new Year 10 students in July. We will reschedule this for September. At this event, UTCN systems and procedures will be explained and parents will have the opportunity to meet key staff including Form Tutors.
Now that your son or daughter has been formally accepted by us, we need to gather their personal information. This should be entered via our online portal: https://utcn.applicaa.com where you will see that extra data fields have been added.
Please complete the personal details sections on our online portal by May 31, 2020.
To help your son/daughter prepare for their studies at UTCN, we are putting together a Summer Work Pack. This will help them gently prepare for Year 10. The pack will also detail the required stationery students will need to get before they start in September. We will send this out in July.
In August First Buses will announce the bus timetable for September 2020 for the UTCN contract buses, this will be published on the school website. We anticipate that this will operate at the same, or similar times, to the current service. This service allows students to travel from Norwich Rail Station, Castle Meadow or St. Stephens to UTCN.
Bus passes for the UTCN contract bus will be available to purchase from the first day of the academic year in September. The pass is available through the ‘First Bus App’ but must be purchased directly from UTCN. Once payment has been made a code will be issued to activate the pass as an ‘M Ticket’, further details on how to purchase bus passes will be provided at the Induction events.
The uniform list is available on the school website under ‘Joining Us’. Uniform will be available to order on the Induction Day.
If you have any queries about uniform, please contact V&J Knitwear on 01553 772563 or firstname.lastname@example.org
If your son/daughter has an identified Special Educational Need, has a medical condition or you feel that they will need extra support in lessons, it is important that you make contact with our SENDCO, Mrs Jarvis via email on email@example.com
Most students chose their KS4 options at interview and these will be checked and confirmed at the Induction Day with your son/daughter.
These are available on our website here. Parents and students should note that Friday, September 4 is the first date of term for new students.
We are now fully subscribed for Year 10 entry in September 2020 and we are placing all new applicants on a waiting list for places. We very much hope that your son/daughter will be able to start with us in September, however, if for any reason you no longer wish your child to take up their place with us, we would be grateful to hear from you at the earliest opportunity so that we can give your child’s place to one of the students on our waiting list.
We look forward to seeing you soon, but in the meantime, if you have any queries at all, please contact the Admissions team via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
