Science Technician

Term Time + 1 week

30 hours per week

Salary Scale 5 - £21,173 - £23,008

 Actual £14,636 - £15,904

To start November 1 or by agreement

This role is for 30 hours per week on a Term Time plus 1 week basis.  The core hours of work will be from 8.15am to 2.45pm with 30-minutes unpaid for lunch (normally from 12.25pm to 12.55pm): this totals 30 hours per week. There may be some scope to vary these hours slightly.

If you are:

  • Familiar with a laboratory environment
  • Educated to Level 3 (A Level, NVQ III) or above with high standards of literacy and numeracy
  • Organised, a team player and optimistic

Teacher of English (Maternity Leave)

To start January 2020

£24,372 - £40,490 pa according to experience

English and literacy are, of course, fundamental to students’ futures. At the UTC, we see this, not just in terms of a qualification, but as a means of increasing students’ employability.

This role is offered on a temporary basis to cover Maternity Leave. However, as our student numbers continue to increase, we anticipate that a permanent role may arise in the near future.

Teacher of Science (0.4 FTE)

To start January 2020

£9,748 - £16,196 (actual) pa according to experience

As a STEM school all sciences are popular with Physics and Chemistry being part of our KS4 Core Curriculum and Biology a very popular choice through options. At GCSE and A Level Biology we are currently studying AQA, Chemistry and Physics are both studied with OCR at GCSE and AQA at A level.  A knowledge and experience of delivering these specifications would be desirable.  

This role is offered on a permanent basis, as we continue to expand and develop over the next few years, opportunities to take on further additional hours and responsibilities will be available to the right candidate in the future.  We anticipate that the teaching commitment will be spread over two days per week and we have flexibility about which days.
